The security clearances required depend on the specific role and project, typically ranging from Confidential to Top Secret levels, obtained through a thorough background investigation conducted by government agencies such as the Department of Defense or the Office of Personnel Management, involving extensive checks on personal and professional history, finances, and character references.
Depending on the nature of the role and clearance level, employees may undergo a polygraph test and ongoing investigation conducted by a facility security officer (FSO) to ensure compliance with security protocols and regulations, maintaining the integrity and safety of sensitive information and operations.
